I do Pilates because it makes me feel connected to my body and it has made me stronger, both physically and mentally! Liz has taught me to love doing Pilates - she has taught me to engage muscles I never knew existed, she gently challenges me with each session and I am toned and limber! I do Pilates because it makes me stronger and energized. I think it also helps with my posture and has made me more aware of how the different parts of my body work together or don't but should. Love how Liz focuses on each person; she asks what areas you want to focus on and also asks what areas you might have issues with (e.g. back, knees, etc.) and makes certain the exercises are tailored to help, not hurt, those areas. I have been doing Pilates on and off for over 15 years. I have always come back to it because I have chronic back pain and Pilates helps with my core strength, balance and overall awareness of how I use my body day to day. I do both private lessons as well as small group classes because the customized attention and instruction helps me to be safe in my movements and tweak my form based on my unique needs.
Liz Fareed is one of the most skilled and knowledgeable Pilates instructors I’ve ever worked with. Her extensive background in dance coupled with her Pilates training uniquely qualifies her as a high quality instructor both on a private and group class basis. Her attention to detail and form has helped me to slowly and steadily get stronger and more capable in our sessions. She is incredibly responsive and skilled at meeting my body where it is on any given day, knowing just when to push me and when to find the just right customization to any exercise we are doing.
